Angela Johnson, Ohio's Featured Author at the National Book Festival
The Ohio Center for the Book is proud to feature Children’s Author Angela Johnson at the 2008 National Book Festival. One of the most prolific and celebrated American children’s authors, Angela Johnson has written over 40 books for youth of all ages.
She began working full-time as a writer in 1989. Her works includes award-winning picture books, board books, poetry, stories, and novels for young adults. Ms Johnson is well known for realistic characters, sensitive depictions of family life, and African-American history. Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on June 18, 1961, Angela Johnson has lived in Ohio since she was 15 months old and resides in Kent, Ohio.
The annual National Book Festival is organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush, will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 3rd and 7th streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.
