In its 6th year, the Ohioana Book Festival will once again celebrate Ohio’s authors, their books, and the love of reading and writing! The festival is always tons of fun where all attendees meet nearly 100 Ohio authors, have books signed, attend panel discussions, try some of the crafts and activities in the children’s area, eat at one (or more) of the local food carts, listen to some great music, and take in all the amazing literature Ohio has to offer! All Festival activities are free and open to the public.

The 1st Annual Ohioana Book Festival was held in September 2007 with only ten Ohio authors. The Festival was created to increase awareness of the importance of Ohio writers, to bring together readers and writers, and to promote the enjoyment of reading and writing. Since 2007, the Festival has grown to include more than 100 authors from all across the state writing in every genre imaginable.

The location of this year’s Ohioana Book Festival is Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center (546 Jack Gibbs Blvd., Columbus, OH 43215). The Festival runs from 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.  For additional information and for the 2012 Official Ohioana Book Festival Program visit http://www.ohioanabookfestival.org/. Featured Ohio authors include: Tom Batiuk, Jeni Britton Bauer, Cinda Williams Chima, Casey Daniels, Nancy Petro, Donald Ray Pollock, Emilie Richards, Les Roberts, Michael J. Rosen, Robin Yocum.
